A history lesson:
First there was homemade pizza that mom used to make.
Then came the Pizzeria, the local pizza shop around the corner that you and the family went to on Friday nights to pick up a great hand tossed pizza.
Franchise restaurants began to offer various commercial versions of the classic pizza pie, with added value of in home delivery.
Frozen Pizza was introduced as the new junk food, cardboard tasting crust with plastic cheese on top of flavorless sauce...This was the epitome of turning a great classic dish to the most commercial based piece of preservative laden garbage ever to adorn the frozen food aisle. However, in the last few years, the frozen pizza has been making a statement that it does compare to home delivered and in some case, that may be true.
Introducing a new technology sensation for the world of Pizza lovers looking for a new way to enjoy "fresh" Pizza at blazing speeds; through a vending machine...
This new Amazing pizza machine has been invented in Europe to duplicate the entire process from dough to finished product within 3 minutes!
As you can probably tell, this has sent the Italian pizza elite into an uproar. The thought of their national pastime coming out of a metal box is tough to swallow...This is where pizza was born, and is a national symbol of their cuisine, very similar to hot dog or apple pie is in the US. The pizza making machine reportedly utilizes infra-red lasers to cook the pizza once the dough, sauce and cheese have been applied.
To help the consumer participate and delight in the making of their special order, windows are provided to allow the viewing of the entire process which could be a novel way to entertain the kids on a Friday night. During some of the test runs, crowds were seen gathering around the unit to watch this amazing piece of technology deliver a made to order pizza. Hot and fresh from the oven, so to speak.
So somewhere in the near future, when you travel to your favorite grocery store you may see a small contingent of onlookers huddled around in sheer amazement. As you look past the the movie rental box, coin counter and soda machine, you just might get a glimpse of the Amazing Pizza Machine. I would certainly be interested in seeing this in my grocery store, and who knows if the price is right, I might try one.
